Berzario extends
for about 10 hectares over the countryside of Melendugno.
Masseria, initially built in 1700, has been recently
reconstructed and now is a welcoming agritourism place, where it’s
possibile to stay overnight and at the same time enjoy typical Salento
delicacies.
Always caring a lot for a quality of the products,
for a protection of the environment and for the needs of a consumer,
Italo Potě since 1992 has been cultivating the olive trees according
to the biological cultivation criteria and the fruits
have been protected with the techniques aimed to improve the olive
products flavour of country naturalness.
The extra virgin olive oil is really a precious product, the olives
harvested since the month of October to preserve all the olive aroma
have a sweet flavour with a slight flavour of bitter and
spicy that lasts only for a short time to be later transformed into
the fragrance of fresh scented oil that unites and exalts all the
flavours.
In the company there are cultivated also the strawberries that can
be tasted as fresh just harvested fruit so also as a special jam knowingly
prepared with master hands. All the biologic cultivations also those
of the cherries together with the red of the strawberries colour the
Salento landscape with their fruit. A particular way to taste this
fruit is to pick them up directly from a plant or a tree discovering
a taste so unusual for its intensity and persistence. |
