The oil mill was originated in the result of a
fusion of the Cooperative Society Rinascita Ag r i c o l a
, Melendugno Oil Mill Cooperative and Borgagne
Cooperative Society “Conca D’Oro” with
intention to face new market challenges, to rationalize processing
systems and to offer the production of the Terra d’ Otranto
qualitative extravirgin olive oil.
The cooperative represents the biggest structure in the Italian olive
oil
production sector in terms of working capacity and number of partners
having more than 2.300 Terra d’ Otranto farmers
and being a point of reference for various farms operating in the
olive oil production sector. In addition to its products processing
and selling, the Cooperative, already over the years has been engaged
in a marketing activity of its oil under a trademark “
Macchia del Barone”.
Biological oil is an excellent product. The biological
cultivation fields are controlled by the Consortium of Biological
Products Control (C.C.P.B) of Bologna. Numerous Melendugno associated
agricultural companies share a vocation for respect of the environment
and for the absolutely natural production of oil in order to bring
to your tables high quality oil obtained from the process of squezzing
out in cold the olives ripening under the Mediterranean sun.
The entire line of the typical Salento products and delicacies is
produced by the company using the genuine ingredients being harvested
with great patience and processed by hand, adding to all the products
the extraordinary and unique flavour and satisfying the modern biological
and dietary needs of a consumer.
Particulary tasty and required are speciality goods in oil: peppers,
aubergines, small onions, lampascioni onions,
dried tomatoes, small artichokes in the extra virgin olive oil. Pasta
made from local hard grain perfectly goes together with traditional
ready to use sauces and pulped tomatoes and brings to the tables of
our clients the flavours and aroma of the Terra d’Otranto. Being
sensitive and respectful of the environment, the cooperative is energetically
self-sufficient as a photovoltaic plant for the production of the
electrical power for its plants functioning.
